What Women Want
How many times have you heard a man say that women are impossible to figure out? How many times have you felt men truly are from another planet? And how many times have you wished they’d stayed there?
While I like men, and I’m not into male bashing, it’s obvious that all too often men just don’t get us. They’ll shake their heads, shrug their shoulders, and go do something they consider to be manly. Like watching a football game. And we women are left frustrated, angry, and in search of chocolate.
So I thought this might be a good place to tell the world of men what women really want. Now, since men don’t ask for directions, there’s a low probability of any man showing up here. Still, it might help alleviate some frustration for women to have a place where their wants can be clarified.
Just send me a brief explanation of what you want from men, or from that special man. Humorous or serious. No explicit sexual references, please. At my discretion I will select, and edit if necessary, the responses to appear on this page. Responders will be identified only with first names or initials.
So, go ahead, have fun, and let men know what they should’ve figured out a long time ago.

A interesting man with a good sense of humor in a nice good looking package. In very good health preferably with his own hair and teeth. In good physical / active shape. Hi morals/ethics and compassionate. Confident and willing to be a partner in life. Financially secure, ready to share and play in the golden years left before going to pasture. Very outgoing and giving of himself without asking for returns. So, I’m ready, where is he? — AB
I want a man who will offer me the bigger piece of a candy bar though I really want the smaller piece. — DC
Equal parts respect (for me and for himself – I’ve been “the other woman” so this is really important!), humor, financial reliability/responsibility and sexual compatibility (also very important! In my experience out of sync desire levels means unsustainable relationship). – MM
(I want a man). . . who will read to me from Jane Austen so I can listen to his voice lulling me to sleep. — DC
I want that special man who sees me as his equal but treats me as his princess. A man who can make me smile and who is not afraid to show me the deep dark parts of his personality that he thinks if he shows them, no one could possibly love him. Love is all encompassing. The good, the bad, and the beautiful. — KS
I want my man to be my best friend and confidant, my strongest ally, the one I turn to when life is proceeding according to plan and when it’s not. A full partner. My special man will love and accept me for who I am and respect our differences without feeling threatened. My special man will also rub my feet in the morning to wake me up! — KD
